Challenge
The primary challenge involved aligning the Trackers Earth brand identity with a professional tone for adult staff during training. Additionally, the task included transforming a lengthy, nearly 200-page training manual from a basic Word document into a compelling and easily digestible resource. The objective was to strike a balance between maintaining brand consistency and enhancing the manual’s engagement factor, ensuring that crucial safety and class information resonated effectively with a diverse team of over 500 employees across four states. This demanded strategic design decisions to blend professionalism with brand identity while converting a dense document into a dynamic and efficient tool.
Approach
To address this challenge, I dived head first into converting a basic Word document into a meticulously crafted, branded training book in InDesign. The approach involved infusing the manual with Trackers Earth’s distinctive branding elements, maintaining a whimsical aesthetic, while also introducing a professional touch for adult staff. The content was structured to be easily digestible, fostering an efficient learning experience for employees spread across diverse locations.
Results
The redesigned training manual seamlessly integrated the Trackers Earth brand with a professional tone for adult staff, fostering engagement and consistency. Instructors familiar with the original manual for many years discovered new and compelling information, enhancing the overall training experience. The revamped manual successfully contributed to streamlined and consistent training, ensuring crucial information resonated effectively with all the staff.
