For over a year, I was the lead designer on three magazines that targeted three distinct age groups: kindergarten through third grade, fourth grade through eighth grade, and ninth grade and above. With these magazines, I hand designed each page and created branding style guides for the various repeating subjects each issue.

In addition to branding per page content theme, I instituted a modular grid in which to place content. The challenge of this grid is that it had to match the baseline grid setup by the printer, to keep with current printing methods. With the modular grid in place creating a simple page wireframe became easier not only for the team of designers in visualizing where to place content, but also for the writers who could input their copy directly into the wireframe.
